100+ km under 26 hours

PROVE IT TO YOURSELF

You want to know! Not only if you can do it, but in what time you can do it. As one of the few organizers of this kind, we "track" the times of the participants and include them officially in our Hall of Fame.

Independently of this, the ULTRAMARASCH represents the next level in terms of long distance hiking. SPEED HIKING is the name of this new trend.

Our routes are deliberately above the 100 kilometer mark or challenge you in other ways, e.g. through a greater difference in altitude.

Do you also want to take on this challenge?  Then register soon, because the places will be limited!

DOUBT?

120km are too much for you? Then use our half-distance-plus runs (hdp).

You start in the same field and at the same time, but you reach your goal after 75km.

But be careful: also here it is called speed hiking. The given time is 17 hours.

These runs are an excellent training for the big ultramarathon.

You want to know more about it? Check out our field reports. Alternatively, Spiegel Online also reported about Ultramarsch!

...and this is what our participants say:

With their virtual events, Wolf and Jeannette have created a wonderful format that has carried and continues to carry at least me through this different time. I joined in November and will probably stay for a while. The minimum goals are achievable, but also not too "piddly" to not be taken seriously. For example, if you choose the 500 km in the current quarterly challenges, you have to realize an average of about 5.5 km, so for the walkers about 1 hour of exercise per day, 5 km is the minimum distance that can be submitted - more is always possible. In winter, it was a practical A...tritt for the inner pig dog to complete the daily dose of exercise despite darkness and not very nice weather. For weeks it has been a nice way to convert Corona frustration into another form of energy ;-). The special challenge lies in the continuous load. Here it is not about walking an exceptionally long distance in a very short period of time, but to approach your self-set goal bit by bit, day by day. Each with the intensity that suits him.

From the beginning, they were very quick to transfer the submitted distances to the list of participants. Since the new registration system has been in place, this has been even faster. Again and again, the two of them implement new ideas and suggestions, and they are very committed to their work. Thanks for that! Those who need mental support will find it in the Facebook group. For those who don't need it, the new reporting system will keep you up to date with the latest news even without Facebook. Keep up the good work!

I wanted to leave a big thank you to Wolf and Jeanette, what you have put together is so great...and your little helper of course too;-) Actually, I wanted to do my first mega march last year, since it was canceled, I'm first on fb in their group and then luckily found the ultra-crazy and their group. Since November now in it and there is no better group, everyone is ok as he is, all super nice and many funny reports ,always a great morning update.....you are always a bright spot in a difficult time.

For me (trauma patient), hiking is now my survival strategy, it includes going to the limits and even in pain, for now no pills, no injuries and kilos go by themselves ;-) My time out, when I'm out, is clear, I'm not available, otherwise always for the family there....Maybe sometimes a little too extreme, but just the healthiest, which helps me through a difficult time and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart

500 km in three months. In January I thought I would try it. It has become almost 800 km. Great motivation to go out, everything super organized via a simple database, every day a funny summary, many dear crazy like-minded people. Lots of fun and the next quarter immediately booked. There is no better way to use the Corona time. Tanja

I signed up here in May because everything was cancelled because of Corona.

I thought 750km in 6 months will be hard, but I could do it. And by registering here, you get extra motivated to really go out, then it will work out somehow.

Very quickly I found that I'm all a lot of fun and especially the great group here is the absolute hammer and the KM just fly there :D

And through the many lovely people here, I always had the feeling not to hike alone, but always to have many dear friends with me on my hikes.

That from complete strangers in the 6 months a small ultra family develops and one takes all so in the heart, I would never have thought!

Together we hiked to the moon, motivated each other, suffered and laughed together and it was an incredibly great 6 months with this troop.

And now it is 3 days until the finish and I will march to the finish with 3500km. I would never have thought in my life to reach this incredible number, where I even doubted in the beginning if the 750km would be enough.

And of course the extension ticket until the end of the year is already booked.

The joy that many of our small Ultra family will also continue to participate is huge and I look forward to the next months with all the crazy people here.

Jeannette and Wolf I am ULTRA grateful to you for creating this challenge and for allowing me to be a part of this crazy troop.

And I am thankful to every single participant that we had such a great time together, that I was allowed to participate in many hikes and tours and that there was not one bad word in this group in 6 months, but that we just had ultra fun together! Every single person can be so proud of himself!

So, when I heard about this action through my running buddy, Katrin - I thought ok, 750 km in six months, (as probably all of you quickly calculated), that could be done.

Unfortunately, I was not one of those who could do home office, but 5 days a week a main job and 1 day a side job have, house, husband, a pubescent, as well as another dog, it was already a challenge.

Everyone I told about this ultra thing, they were like, "What? How much, 750 km? Yes exactly,

if you're not crazy then who is."

In any case, I have to give a big shout out to my husband, who thinks I'm a total nutcase, but has always had my back so I could live out my craziness. I have the best man in the world, thank you.

Yes, what can I say, here are real friendships developed, even if these did not develop in Germany, but as with me then in the summer vacations.

By a super great coincidence I had noticed that Isabell Molina, exactly where I am on vacation, closer to each other than at home, I found a bit spuki.

Since then we have both made Mallorca really unsafe and I hope that was now in October not the last time.

My running partner here in Germany, the dear Katrin Schwarz, has also grown very close to my heart (hanky panky, sniff), what we have already torn together in kilometers this year, I would never have thought possible, I hope you still bear me next year, because with you I like to run to the end of the world.

Then all the other crazies who have really searched and found each other here, guys I have really won you all dear, but now Marina V., now would also be the right time for you to slow down a bit, otherwise I will not catch up with you. :-)))

I wanted to add that I have then made the 2500 km in the 6 months.

I hope when this stupid Corona thing has finally come to an end, that these crazy Ultras can actually meet again.

In this sense, many thanks to Jaennette and Wolf, that you have rocked this Ultra craziness.

When I first read about the Ultramarsch Corona Challenge, I was torn whether to take the plunge. But since the gyms had to shut down and the real marches were cancelled, I very cautiously signed up for 750 kilometers in 6 months. That was somehow achieved very quickly, as was the 1250 kilometers. And then the ambition was awakened. One week before the regular end, I actually cracked the 2500 kilometers. This challenge showed me that I can achieve much more than I sometimes think I can.

A huge thank you to Jeanette, Wolf and all Challenge participants. You have contributed every day anew to the motivation.

By the way, I heard something really funny on the news today. They say that only 12 people have landed on the moon so far, and all of them are men. I would say that they have not yet realized that we have also arrived there in the meantime.

2020 was supposed to be my entry into the world of long distance hiking. I had virtually stained blood at the small mammoth march in Berlin 2019 and wanted to continue.

Many marches were booked or at least earmarked and the excitement and anticipation was high.

And then came Corona. With lockdown and all the uncertainty, home schooling and home office and the cancellation of many hiking events.

But getting out into nature was still allowed and I used the time for walks and short hikes.

And then I stumbled upon the ultramarsh special: 1250km in 6 months. Is that possible? Wait, that's 7km per day - phew, that's not really doable. Or is it? My ambition was aroused and what was there to lose?

Soon there was a nice community of hikers on Facebook who motivated each other with pictures and stories, and there were always great summaries from the organizers that just put you in a good mood. It's great to be part of this community that cheers the successes of the participants and encourages you when you're going through a valley.

And at the end of the trip? I made the 1250km and got through the turbulent months just fine. Even if the real hiking events have a completely different flair, this virtual event has left a lasting impression on me and given me courage. When things are going really badly, when you're down, get out. When your head is buzzing with confused thoughts and your worries are getting bigger - then go outside. When you feel like you have to do something and you don't know what to do - go outside. Just put on your shoes and go out into nature: fresh air, sun, rain, birdsong, step by step, sort out your thoughts, separate the important from the unimportant and then return to everyday life with a smile. This works always and everywhere and does soooo good. Thank you dear Ultramarsch team for these great experiences.

Corona time, little what to do, read in Facebook what about Ultramarsch Corona Special: 750, 1250 or even 2500 km hiking in 6 months. Hmmm, quickly calculated, 750 can be done without much effort since after work the dogs have to go for a walk. Hmmm, 1250 that's about 7 km a day after work; well, that will be a challenge; ok 1250 it will be.

Signed up! What did I expect? I send in my km each day and somewhere a list is filled.

What did I find? A great ultramarsh family; a Mioivation bomb; 2500km and even more I did thanks to all of you. It is so much fun with you. Thank you, you have made my life even richer.

The biggest thanks goes to Wolf and Jeannette: what you have put together is great

Making the impossible possible, that was the first thought when signing up. 1250km in 6 months sounded impossible to me at first but little by little I collected the kilometers. Through the group where everyone motivated the other, gave each other tips for beautiful walks and exchanged experiences, it went well. Friendships and meetings for joint hikes were formed.

It's just something completely different which is really great so of course I also extended. Rarely have I met such a community with so much fun and humor.

THANKS FOR THE GREAT TIME!!!

I signed up for 750 km ultramarathon Corona Special, and I went above and beyond. I will actually finish with 2500 km. Not only did I hike a lot this summer, I met a lot of great people who were also on the trail. Hiking is Spirit, you get to experience yourself, nature, your limits and incredible sharing. Then when our family landed on the moon, I cried, I was so proud of all of us! Hiking makes the world a little better! Thank you for this wonderful time!

Corona and cancelled hiking events made me look for alternatives. That's how I became aware of the UM. There I signed up somewhat skeptically for 6 months and 1250 km. What can I say - it will be over 1500 km despite job and family, thanks to my husband, a great group motivation in a group that feels like family and a mega organizer - who always have an open ear and do an insanely great job.

My husband and I were also at the first UM in Dresden - great event with a personal touch, mega helpers and also here the Dreisteins an organizer with heart and soul ...

Oh and by the way I can not do without ... have extended the Challenge :)

The 6 month virtual event, you can kar not put into words, you have to have experienced it, I had signed up at the time with doubts, how can you create 750km in 6 months, but it goes, I lost in the 6 months 15 kg. Those were 6 crazy months, there were lows and highs, one has laughed and cried. But the Team3Stein and the mega cool group has one with different challenge and courage, encouragement always aufgemundert. Even the updates every day were always very interesting to read. And my husband is now fully involved and has found fun in it. We have become a small family. And you can be proud of every single one of us. It has been a mega experience.

Six months of virtual special challenge... there are so many words that would be apt.... and yet can hardly describe what it means to be in this group.

At the beginning, everyone had their own challenge to master. Nevertheless, hardly anyone could really imagine what would be feasible. Together... that was the motto after a short time. Each for himself... and yet together.

There was more and more a family flair and one feverishly shared with the others, one congratulated oneself on partial successes, one suffered with others in case of injuries and other low and fateful blows. One motivated, built up and celebrated every single participant.

Was it really possible for this small group to walk to the moon in six months? 384,400 kilometers? #Team3Stein set it as a goal pretty early on in a Saturday update (the weekly summary of the Challenge) and proved a golden hand. Almost to the point, we set foot on the moon together four days before the six months were up. An unexpectedly intense feeling of happiness due to the indescribable achievement of each individual flowed through the participants. It is difficult to put into words what came out of this community.

Some of the participants lost weight, most of them outgrew themselves and friendships were formed. Even a real love story was born and I am happy to be part of this extraordinary group.

I would also like to thank each and every one of you who shared your tours with us and showed us the beauty of your home country. I thank everyone for their shared joy, encouragement, motivating words and applause. I thank the Dreisteins for many great ideas, which so often turned out to be spot on, thereby pushing the participants further and further to peak performance ...

You have to be in this group. Otherwise you miss something great.

If there is a superlative for ULTRA, apply it to this special group.

THANK YOU to all
